Play, Make, Create Week 9

This week for Play, Make, Create didn't read a book, we just had a Key word which was camp. The reason the word was camp, is because we are going to camp on Wednesday.

I worked with Cullen and Katelyn. I really liked working with them because they have really great ideas.

We used cardboard as the base and stuck green coloured paper on top.  To create the tent we used metallic party banners and we also made sleeping bags. We wanted a little outdoor area so we got some really cute fabric and made a mat with a mini campfire. We had heaps of time left when we finished so we made little versions our selves, Cullens in the tent and Katelyn and I are lying down outside/sunbathing.

Overall I think our Play, Make, Create this week is a Supernova!

Maths Mystery Week 9

Today I worked with Shirley to do a Maths Mystery!! I really enjoyed working with her because I have never worked with her before.

The Maths Mystery was about a trophy thief and the culprit was Mollie.

For clue One we worked out that the culprit had a metal drink bottle.

For clue two we worked out that the thief was a female.

For clue three we found out that the thief was a year three.

For clue four we worked out that she is size nine.

And clue five was that she played for the blue team.

I found this Maths Mystery really easy but I still enjoyed it. I think I put in a Supernova effort.

Play, Make, Create

This week for Play, Make, Create we read Giraffes Can't Dance.

I worked with Katelyn. We decided to create a scene in the book and I think it turned out really well.

We decided to do a collage using a magazine as our background and added the other elements on top. We also used coloured paper for the grass, crape paper for the dance area and string for his tail.

The hardest part was glueing all magazine strips on the background and the easiest part was the creating the moon.

I think that our Play, Make, Create this week is a Supernova!

Week 5, Term 1, 2021

Monday was our school Swimming Sports and it was really fun. Before my races, I was really nervous, my legs were shaking and I had goosebumps all over me. But I think did really well and I made it into Hauraki Plains which is this Monday.

In literacy this week we have been book detectives. We are reading the Magic Finger by Roald Dahl. So far we have done a summariser and a predictor on the book.

Part of our maths program is NumBots. I am on Aluminium (which is the tenth level) and am aiming for diamond (which is the eighteenth level).

Last week we read The Very Hungry Caterpillar and for the Whetu Challenge, we make/research or anything related to it. I worked with Katelyn to make a picture of The Very Hungry Caterpillar. We made the caterpillar out of cardboard and painted the background.
