Play, Make, Create - Week 4

This week for Play, Make, Create we read Theodore the Unsure by Pip Smith.

I decided to do the create task this week which was to create something that Theodore could have made out of his hair. So I made a scrunchie and I think it turned out really well. To make the scrunchie I got a rubber band and stapled some fabric around it, then I thought that it didn't look like his hair so I wrapped some wool around it.

I think that my Play, Make, Create this week is Supernova!

Play, Make, Create - Week 2, Term 2

This week for Play, Make, Create we read Be You which is a book about being yourself and being unique.

I decided to work alone this week because it's a book about yourself. I made a scrapbook about myself which came under the category Make. I think it turned out really well. Some of the things I included was my favourite colour, food, hobbies, places and much more.

I think making it a scrapbook worked really well because I could add heaps of ribbons, buttons, cellophane, string and bright colours.

The most challenging part was drawing the beach because I tried to add lots of detail to make it a Supernova.

NumBots and TTRockstars Blog Post

 Term 2, Week 1 2021

During Term 1 we have been practising our addition and subtraction knowledge through the online programme called NumBots.  At the start, it was super easy but progressively got more challenging.

I am now on Diamond level of NumBots which is the highest level.

I enjoy NumBots because it taught me a lot of new math strategies and I really enjoyed moving up the levels.

What I find challenging is some of the challenges especially 16, 19 and 20. I also find Diamond a little hard.

This week we have started TTRockstars.  This is an online programme which helps us to learn our timetables. The year sixes still have their accounts from last year so my time dropped heaps. Since I was last on TTRockstars they added a new section called Jamming. In Jamming, you can custom how many questions we get and what sort of questions you get.

I think that TTRockstars is really fun and has also really helped me with my Multiplication and Division. My favourite things to do on TTRockstars is Garage and Arena.

Play, Make, Create: Term 2, Week 1

This week for Play, Make, Create we read Up the Creek. The book is about teamwork and resilience.

I worked with Katelyn and we decided to Design a map to navigate The Moose, The Bear and The Beaver "Up the Creek".

We drew a key with colours for the Safest Route, the Dangerous Route, The Skinny Route and a Dead End which I think worked really well. Then we thought it needed something else so we added a compass.

If we had a bit more tie we would have added their canoe going "Up the Creek".
